Happy New Year!
The beginning of a new year always brings new ideas and a hopeful outlook for the months ahead. This year I hope to continue some of my current themes and also try a few new ones. The poppy continues to be one of my favourite themes and I just today finished the first piece of the year...
The year is already shaping up to be a busy one...
◉ The London Artists' Studio Tour runs from April 20th to April 22nd and this year marks the tours 25th year! As usual, I will have a range of different sizes and styles of work on display. This is an amazing tour and if you haven't had a chance to check it out you should definitely look into it!
◉ An Exhibition at Westland Gallery will open April 24th. I am looking forward to a few months of concentrating on exploring a floral theme. Rest assured there will be some typical examples in the show but I have some plans to explore a few different approaches as well.
◉ Last year Krista and I attended our first Toronto Fan Expo as a vendor. It was a great weekend and we learned a lot! We have secured our position this year but with a $1300 table rental and an overall budget of $4000, we will have to see how many paintings I sell before then...haha. Fan Expo is held at the end of August and runs for 4 days. An estimated 130,000 people attend.
◉ Forest City Comic Con and London Comic Con will run in September and October respectively.
◉ Shane Norrie Contemporary Gallery and I have been talking about a show in the Fall. Nothing hammered out yet but I always look forward to showing there.
◉ We will also have another November Open House this year. It was a great success last year and we were so happy to have lots people through the studio to look around and ask questions.
This year I have also decided to take on a limited number of commissions so please contact me or if you prefer, please contact one of the galleries representing me.
Over the past 5 to 6 months I was able to work with a few buyers concerning a payment plan for work. This is an option Krista and I are more than happy to work out with people. We are happy to take a monthly payment towards the purchase of a piece or a future commission if it works out better for your individual budget and situation (and lets be honest, it helps us out as well). Please don't hesitate to contact us directly with any questions.
I look forward to hearing from you and wish you all a very prosperous new year.
Jamie
